About The Position

The Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets is seeking an individual to join a team focused on consumer protection across various complex programs influenced by national and state policy. This role will be instrumental in implementing the Agency's regulatory responsibilities for distributors of commercial feed, pet food, dosage form animal health products, fertilizer, lime, beneficial substances, seed, and pesticide products sold in Vermont. The position requires both independent work and collaboration within the team, contributing to communication and regulatory efforts that support these programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years or more of experience in agricultural production or livestock farming, greenhouse operation, veterinary office, environmental, or a related field.
• OR Four (4) years or more experience in farm or agricultural production or livestock farming, greenhouse operation, veterinary office, environmental, or a related field that includes database management.
• OR At least two (2) years of experience as a Feed, Seed, Fertilizer Regulatory Specialist I in Vermont State service.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Agency's responsibility to regulate distributors of commercial feed, pet food, and dosage form animal health products, fertilizer, lime, beneficial substances, seed and pesticide products sold in Vermont.
• Contribute to communication and regulatory efforts that support these programs.
• Perform occasional marketplace or field inspections.
• Manage conflicting opinions respectfully and appropriately.
