We are seeking a Project Engineering Intern for our aggregates team for Summer 2026 who is passionate about sustainability, driven by curiosity and keen to grow, learn, develop and thrive in our high-performance culture. This opportunity will be a 10-week, paid internship beginning June 1, 2027. This internship will be based at our site in Plano, TX.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Construction Industry Management, Project Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar fields.
  • Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
  • Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
  • A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field, gaining hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Dive into the operational procedures, production/maintenance activities, and product knowledge at our Aggregate sites. You'll be actively involved in understanding and optimizing mechanical, maintenance, and production processes.
  • Collect and analyze data, identify process correlations, and contribute to the development of strategies for ongoing projects.
  • Gain hands-on experience with daily mine operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities.
  • Work alongside operators to learn about the maintenance and operation of heavy mining equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as geology, engineering, and safety to understand the full spectrum of operations.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize a range of skills and knowledge in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals.
  • At the end of your internship, you'll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.
