Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
About The Position
Orbion Space Technology is seeking engineering interns for a full-time internship in Houghton, Michigan, during Summer 2027. Interns will work closely with a mentor and other employees to apply their knowledge and develop skills on impactful projects. Applicants should have a record of academic success and motivation to apply their knowledge outside the classroom. Interviews are expected to start in December 2026. The intern will work with a team of engineers to define requirements and independently test and implement solutions. The role also involves evaluating and analyzing data, conducting experiments, developing models and simulations, and documenting processes and results.
Requirements
- Must meet the definition of a US Person.
- Must be currently enrolled at a college or university and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in aerospace, engineering, physics, or mathematics.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience; internship, laboratory, personal project, or team project experience is applicable.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with team members to creatively solve problems.
- Ability to be detail-oriented and manage multiple assignments.
Nice To Haves
- GPA of 3.5 or above.
- At least 6 months of experience applying technical skills outside the classroom, such as laboratory work, research, extracurricular project teams, volunteering, personal projects, or prior internship or work experience.
