About The Position

Under the general direction of the Director, International Recruitment, the Agent Relations Consultant is responsible for supporting the management, development, and ongoing review of the University’s global network of recruitment agents and vendors. This role ensures that agent relationships and engagement strategies align with the University’s strategic priorities and contribute directly to the achievement of international enrolment targets. The Agent Relations Consultant supports the review, selection, and contracting process for recruitment agents; coordinates agent training and ongoing professional development; provides agent application support and responds to agent inquiries; monitors agent performance and incentive programs; and supports commission verification and processing. The role also supports vendor partners across Canada and in select global markets by managing partner selection, training initiatives, recruitment collaboration, and ongoing performance assessment.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree, with 3-6 years progressive experience in international student recruitment, education marketing, international relations or related field.
  • Experience navigating sensitive and complex conversations, cultural awareness, diplomacy, and cross-cultural engagement; ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent marketing, organizational, project and event management, judgment, decision-making, and customer service skills.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, target-driven environment; meet deadlines; manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and self-motivation; familiarity with emerging communication technologies (e.g., web development, e-communications, portals, social media).
  • Ability to research and analyze large volumes of information and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Advanced to expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, publishing software, and laptop technology.
  • Attention to detail, highly organized and process oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with a global portfolio of international recruitment agents, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional communication aligned with institutional priorities and recruitment strategies.
  • Create and maintain agent portals, databases, and related systems and materials, including documentation to onboard, and support new and existing agents.
  • Provide or arrange ongoing training and guidance to prospective and approved agents.
  • Develop and maintain an annual communication plan for agent communications including newsletters, emails, webinars, and other communications.
  • Manage content and updates of agent training tools, ensuring agent data is recorded consistently and training materials reflect up-to-date compliance requirements, legislation, and the University’s recruitment strategy and plan.
  • Act as a central point of contact for efficient and prompt customer service and support of international (onshore and outside of Canada) agents, including assistance with agent events and visits.
  • Collaborate and cross‑train with campus partners, including International Admission, Graduate Admission, the Global Pre‑Arrival Support (GPS) team, and key academic program contacts at each of the Colleges, to ensure that agents receive accurate, current, and consistent information.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of agent commission payments each intake, including verification, discrepancy resolution, and coordination with internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Support the coordination and submission of department purchase orders and requisitions related to agent commission processing, regional representatives, and other vendor and contractor payments, including payments for conferences, expos, fairs etc.
  • Work with external departments and vendors as required to ensure timely processing of commission and other payments related to international recruitment.
  • Collaborate on the agent vetting process under the direction of the Director, International Recruitment, keeping in line with our international recruitment strategy.
  • Support the review, selection, and contracting process for recruitment agents.
  • Collate international agent documentation for agent appointment and management processes.
  • Monitor existing agencies for compliance.
  • Document, standardize, and operationalize agent engagement, appointment, management, review, commission, and communication processes.
  • Assist in overseeing vendors and other partners by supporting partner selection, training initiatives, recruitment collaboration, and ongoing performance assessment.
  • Support international recruitment activities and assist with training and workshops when needed.
  • Keep up to date with key industry trends relative to agents, including ICEF, CBIE, etc. and engage in professional development as appropriate.
  • Be available for flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends during peak recruitment and conversion periods.
  • Travel on University business as required.
