About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft program is seeking structural inspectors to join our team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada). Requirements

  • A D.C.S or A.C.S in Mechanical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or Aeronautical Construction AND At least 2 years of relevant experience in the assembly field OR; A T.S.D in Aerospace Mechanical Assembly and at least 2 years of experience as a structural assembler OR; A T.S.D in Structural Assembly and at least 2 years of experience as a structural assembler OR; An Evidence of successful completion of a structural fast-track program and at least 2 years of experience as a structural assembler OR; A D.C.S in Structural Assembly or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience as a structural assembler OR; At least 3 years of experience as an inspector in the aeronautics field or in a related field in assembly within the past 5 years
  • You demonstrate autonomy, initiative, and work well in a multidisciplinary team
  • You will be required to work in confined spaces regularly
  • You will be required to work at heights of up to 30 feet regularly
  • Ability to adopt and maintain various physical positions as required by the job
  • You have good communication skills
  • You have a good command of the French language (oral and written)

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and manual inspections using measuring tools in accordance with engineering standards, processes, and quality assurance guidelines
  • Check, verify, and test the operation of fittings, mechanical components, fuel circuits, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Inspect and verify the appropriate dimensions and locations for the installation, coupling, or connection of assemblies and systems
  • Oversee the aircraft as a whole, including the fitting and securing of components and assemblies, installation of systems (ensuring finish, quality of work, and safety) in accordance with the drawings, as well as the operation and safety of all systems, to ensure the aircraft is ready for flight
  • Liaise with floor, engineering, and methods operators
  • Monitor pressure testing of aircraft structures
  • Conduct audits
  • Approve work deemed compliant
  • Write non-compliance inspection reports and technical anomaly sheets
  • Perform other related functions that may vary depending on experience and qualifications
