As a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, you will be reporting to the Technical Supervisor of the Manufacturing Engineering team. You will be responsible for developing manufacturing methods for P&WC engine components (turbines, compressors, combustion chambers, etc.). You'll have the chance to work as part of a team of some sixty methods agents, NC programmers, special process specialists and CMM inspection specialists. As a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, you will also oversee the support and the optimization of manufacturing methods to meet the delivery requirements of the manufacturing center. This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • Academic training in mechanical engineering or aeronautical manufacturing at college or university level is required (or equivalent experience)
  • A good knowledge of French is required
  • Knowledge of technical terms in English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a method agent or NC programmer is a strong asset
  • Good knowledge of English is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering design to validate feasibility from a component manufacturing point of view
  • Define manufacturing strategy (processes used, sequencing, etc.)
  • Order required tooling, collaborate with the tool design team
  • Write work instructions for machinists
  • NC programming
  • Technical support for production lines
  • Participate in the purchasing of manufacturing equipment
