About The Position
Join Deloitte’s AI & Engineering team to transform technology platforms, drive innovation, and help clients improve financial performance, accelerate digital ventures, and grow through innovation. This hands-on role is a Senior Consultant position in Data Engineering & Conversion Solutions on the AI & Data team, focused on building the user-facing interfaces for AI agents. The interfaces enable users to launch agent runs, monitor progress in real time, review and approve outputs, and deliver results. The role builds production React applications backed by a FastAPI service and creates streaming experiences for agent runs. It also develops human-in-the-loop review workflows and sets front-end standards for the pod, including accessible components and performance practices. The position includes demonstrating working software to client executives and data teams. This opportunity is part of Deloitte’s Government & Public Services practice and AI & Data offering, within the Deloitte US Delivery Center model. Delivery center professionals work from a specified center location and have nominal travel requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- 3–6 years of software engineering experience with deep React/TypeScript expertise.
- 3–6 years of experience with Python and React.js.
- 3 or more years of experience building agent or conversational/streaming AI experiences, such as agent chat, token/event streaming, tool- and run-state visualization, or long-running job user experiences.
- 3 or more years of experience with REST and SSE/WebSocket integration.
- Experience making complex, autonomous AI behavior legible, reviewable, and trustworthy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
- Build production user interfaces using React 19, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind, backed by a FastAPI service.
- Design streaming agent experiences over Server-Sent Events, including live run progress, connection status, and incremental findings.
- Create human-in-the-loop review workflows, including checkpoint approvals, natural-language rule authoring, ER diagrams, data-quality dashboards, masking review, and semantic-view editors.
- Set front-end standards for the pod, including component architecture with TanStack Query and react-router, an accessible design system, screen-reader support, and performance for large data-profiling payloads.
- Demonstrate working software live to CIOs, CMOs, and client data teams.
- Lead projects or workstreams and provide clear guidance to others.
