The role partners with business domains, data product teams, Platform Engineering, Analytics, and MDM/Data Quality to turn business data into reliable, reusable, and governed data products. It requires hands-on data engineering skills and the ability to independently deliver production solutions using Azure Databricks and modern engineering practices. The position works with batch and streaming pipelines, transformations, governed data products, data quality and governance controls, CI/CD, and production operations. It also supports analytics consumption, platform collaboration, onboarding, knowledge sharing, and improvements to common engineering patterns.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, data platforms, or related technical roles.
  • Strong experience developing production data pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks or a comparable modern lakehouse platform.
  • Understanding of data modeling, lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, batch and streaming processing, and data integration patterns.
  • Experience with Git-based development, CI/CD, automated testing, and production deployment practices.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, access control, metadata, lineage, and data quality concepts.
  • Ability to independently solve moderately complex technical problems and deliver assigned components of larger data products.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work within the hybrid arrangement established for the position.

  • Experience building data products in a federated or domain-oriented data environment.
  • Familiarity with Power BI consumption patterns and semantic models.
  • Experience working with SAP, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, HR, or other enterprise source systems.
  • Experience collaborating across global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines and transformations using Azure Databricks.
  • Develop governed data products using Delta Lake, SQL, Python, PySpark, and enterprise data engineering standards.
  • Work with business and technical teams to understand source data, transformation logic, data contracts, and consumption requirements.
  • Implement data quality checks, reconciliation, monitoring, metadata, lineage, and access requirements as part of production data products.
  • Apply CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and deployment practices to data engineering workloads.
  • Develop reusable components and follow platform golden paths and engineering standards.
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline, performance, quality, and integration issues through production resolution.
  • Partner with Platform Engineering on environments, platform services, deployment patterns, and technical issues.
  • Work with Analytics teams to provide trusted data products for Power BI and other approved consumption patterns.
  • Support onboarding and knowledge sharing with domain data teams and contribute improvements to common engineering patterns.
