About The Position

The Department of Labor is seeking to hire qualified candidates with the opportunity to work in a dynamic, creative thinking, and problem-solving environment. This position serves as the Freedom of Information Act Manager. In this role, you will be under the general direction of the Legal Division, serving as IDOL’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer and administering the FOIA program. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience tracking, redacting, and responding to FOIA requests.
  • Two (2) years of program management experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat pro, and other relevant software.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with records retentions.

Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction of the Legal Division, serves as IDOL’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer and administers the FOIA program.
  • Prepares various documents and communications related to FOIA requests.
  • Assists with IDOL’s Administrative Rulemaking.
  • Serves as the Department’s Record Retention Officer.
  • Provides administrative and technical support for the Legal Division.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
