About The Position

The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking applications for Afterschool Program Leaders and Program Drivers for their THRIVE program, which serves students from the Beaverton School District. The THRIVE program aims to support and challenge students physically, mentally, and socially, inspire creativity and lifelong learning, and provide a fun and safe environment for children to express themselves through various activities. THPRD believes in the benefits of friendly and supportive interactions and strives to create an environment where children can develop talents and recognize their importance individually and within their community. The program will be offered at multiple facilities including Tualatin Hills Athletic Center, Cedar Hills Recreation Center, Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center, and Garden Home Recreation Center (and Chehalem Elementary).

Requirements

Passionate about creating enjoyable and educational experiences for children in an afterschool setting.
Talents in art, dance, music, science, or sports.
Eager to gain valuable workplace experience and enhance skills.
Ability to coordinate, instruct, supervise, and lead learning and enrichment activities.
Ability to provide a program/class atmosphere that promotes and encourages inclusion and satisfaction of all participants.
Ability to ensure the safety of program participants and provide basic first aid if necessary.

Responsibilities
