About The Position

The Afternoon Greeter provides a professional presence at store entryways to deter theft by engaging with customers entering and leaving the store, including those exiting through the checkout area. The role involves maintaining awareness of customer activity, responding urgently to alerts, validating receipts, recovering unpaid merchandise, and resolving alarms. The Greeter also helps keep team members and customers safe by identifying and addressing safety concerns, reducing disruption through company de-escalation and negotiation techniques, and documenting and communicating theft, safety, and alarm incidents.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience.
Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
Ability to move actively throughout the work area for long periods.
Ability to respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
Ability to learn and interact with new and existing technology solutions.
Ability to use technology to document and communicate incidents.
Ability to learn and apply negotiation and de-escalation techniques.
Ability to work successfully with conflict.
Fluent English comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing.
Normal or corrected vision and hearing.
Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, crouching, bending, pushing, or pulling; limited sitting; and fine motor hand functions.
Ability to lift 0–25 pounds regularly and occasionally perform high levels of physical exertion.
Ability to exit an escalating situation quickly.

Responsibilities

Identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
Deter theft through an active presence and engagement with customers entering and exiting the store.
