About The Position

St. Andrew's Parks & Playground Commission is hiring a part-time after-school shuttle bus and van driver to transport children safely from local schools to its After School Program. The position follows a consistent weekday afternoon schedule during the school year, Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to approximately 4:30 PM, in accordance with the Charleston County School District calendar. No CDL is required. Starting pay is $17.00–$18.50, based on experience.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment screenings, which may include background checks, employment eligibility verification, and post-offer drug screening. These requirements follow Commission policy and applicable law; failure to meet screening standards may result in withdrawal of an employment offer. The Commission is an equal opportunity employer and an at-will employer.

Requirements

• For driving a 14-passenger bus, be at least 21 years old; for driving a 7-passenger van, be at least 18 years old.
• Hold a valid driver's license.
• Maintain a driving record that meets the agency's vehicle insurance eligibility requirements.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able to maintain a consistent Monday–Friday afternoon schedule.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children in a 14-passenger mini-bus or a 7-passenger van.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a safe, positive environment for passengers.
• Follow all traffic laws and agency safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and school personnel.
