Afternoon Driver
About The Position
St. Andrew's Parks & Playground Commission is hiring a part-time after-school shuttle bus and van driver to safely transport children from local schools to its After School Program. The position follows a consistent weekday afternoon schedule during the school year and the Charleston County School District calendar. Drivers use either a 14-passenger mini-bus or a 7-passenger van; no CDL is required. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to approximately 4:30 PM. Starting pay is $17.00–$18.50, based on experience. Employment is contingent on completing required pre-employment screenings, which may include background checks, employment eligibility verification, and post-offer drug screening. The Commission is an at-will and equal opportunity employer.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old to drive a 14-passenger bus, or at least 18 years old to drive a 7-passenger van.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Maintain a driving record that meets the agency's vehicle insurance eligibility requirements.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be able to maintain a consistent Monday–Friday afternoon schedule.
