About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is seeking a dedicated, caring, and creative part-time Childcare Site Assistant for its Before and After School YMCA Program at Cedarville Elementary. The role helps create a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment where children can learn, grow, and explore their potential. Site Assistants provide quality care and age-appropriate educational activities, assist with lessons, and lead planned activities. The position involves working Monday through Friday, with scheduled afternoon hours.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age and attending school.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
• Commitment to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.

Responsibilities

• Connect with program participants, parents, and supervisors through a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor.
• Actively engage with participants and provide quality care.
• Assist in implementing lessons.
• Lead safe activities that engage participants in planned activities.
• Help provide diverse participants with educational, age-appropriate activities in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment.
