After School Instructor
About The Position
EDMO is hiring an After School Instructor to lead hands-on STEAM and social-emotional learning (SEL) activities for children. The role involves guiding children as they build, create, and work together; managing the room patiently and redirecting children with care; communicating with parents about their child’s day; and handling attendance, supplies, and maintaining a safe, clean space. Instructors are also expected to contribute ideas, attend training, respond well to feedback, and help with other needs as they arise. This is a part-time role of up to 25 hours per week, with hours that can work around school or another job. Compensation is $21 to $23.50 per hour. No formal childcare job experience is required. Applicants complete a short application and four video questions, which may be answered on their own time without scheduling.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Instructional Assistant exam, or an AA, BA, or 48 college units in place of the exam.
- Livescan fingerprinting and a negative TB test.
- Able to stand, walk, and remain actively engaged with children indoors and outdoors, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Experience spending time with children in any setting is welcomed, including work, babysitting, tutoring, coaching, camp, or family; formal childcare job experience is not required.
