About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is hiring an After-School Child Care Counselor for its Echo Lake Elementary Afterschool Program. The role supports school-age children after the school day by providing structured play, learning, and leadership opportunities. Counselors create engaging activities, supervise and inspire children, and serve as trusted mentors. The position is located at Echo Lake Elementary and is scheduled on weekdays from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The stated pay range is $16–$16.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have at least 6 months of experience.
• Have a positive attitude and passion for working with children.
• Be reliable, creative, and energetic.

Responsibilities

• Create fun, engaging activities that help children grow and thrive.
• Support youth development through structured play, learning, and leadership.
