About The Position

This course is designed as an introduction to economic thinking for students without prior economics coursework, with a specific focus on its application to art and cultural goods. It satisfies the Social and Psychological Perspective requirement, contributes to the Economics minor, and is a prerequisite for the Business of Creative Enterprises B.A. program. Student learning outcomes include comparing and contrasting individual and social determinants of behavior, explaining and applying empirical evidence for theoretical frameworks, and applying knowledge of human behavior to self and others. Additionally, the course fulfills a requirement for the Business of Creative Enterprises B.A. degree, which aims to equip students with an understanding of the operating context for creative enterprises, critical and creative thinking skills, an appreciation for the aesthetic world, inclusiveness, the role of vision and innovation, business principles, data-driven decision-making, ethical practices, and professional communication.
