About The Position

This position is for an Affiliate Faculty member in Physics & Astronomy, specifically within the Physics Gee Lab. The primary focus of this role is to complete research papers that were initiated during the candidate's student years. The position requires a deep understanding of sonic boom and rocket noise modeling. The successful candidate will be responsible for paper submissions, revisions, and publications. This position requires the candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend. All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards. Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Requirements

  • PhD in Physics and Astronomy or related field (must be completed by the start date).
  • Deep understanding of sonic boom and rocket noise modeling.
  • Ability to finish papers begun as a student.
  • Relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
