About The Position

This position is for an Affiliate Faculty member in Physics & Astronomy, specifically within the Physics Gee Lab. The primary focus of this role is to complete research papers that were initiated during the candidate's student tenure. The position requires a deep understanding of sonic boom and rocket noise modeling. The successful candidate will be responsible for paper submissions, revisions, and publications. This position requires the candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. Requirements

  • PhD in Physics and Astronomy or related field, completed by the start date.
  • Deep understanding of sonic boom and rocket noise modeling.
  • Relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Commitment to the Mission of Brigham Young University and the Aims of a BYU Education.
  • If a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • Abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
