About The Position

This position involves analyzing surface chemistry results for polymer attachment to surfaces and making surface modifications on porous metal surfaces for DNA capture. The role is part of the Davis Research group. The position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Physics and Astronomy or related area.
  • Degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Experience with chemical surface functionalization.
  • Experience with spectroscopic ellipsometry layer characterization.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Successful candidate must support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

  • XPS characterization of organic monolayers.
  • Capture of Nucleic acids on surfaces and characterization by fluorescence and XPS.
