About The Position

The Aesthetician performs, explains, and schedules cosmetic procedures, consultations, and treatment regimens for select treatments available at Forefront Dermatology. The role promotes and sells cosmetic products and services, discusses available cosmetic treatment options, and provides patient education and aftercare instructions. The Aesthetician recommends cosmetic service enhancements and implements approved plans within specified timeframes, relays information between physicians and patients, schedules appropriate follow-up and treatments, and assists with developing advertising and promotional materials. The position is based in Forefront Dermatology’s Arlington, Virginia clinic.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited esthetician program or commensurate experience.
• Proficiency in basic computer functions and keyboarding.
• Ability to learn new software quickly and operate standard office equipment.
• Ability to understand physician instructions and seek additional information or clarification when needed.
• Professional appearance and manner.
• Friendly, cheerful, tactful, polite, and compassionate demeanor when dealing with others.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of related experience in a medical office or spa setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Discuss available cosmetic treatment options with patients.
• Perform, explain, and schedule select cosmetic consultations and treatments according to protocols.
• Promote and sell cosmetic products, pricing, and services.
• Provide patient education and aftercare instructions.
• Relay information between the doctor and patient, including information from the patient to the doctor.
• Schedule appropriate follow-up appointments and treatments.
• Recommend cosmetic service enhancements and implement approved plans within specified timeframes.
• Assist with developing advertising and promotional materials.
