Aerospace Quality Engineer- Level 1

TRIGO ADR Americas•Bethesda, MD
•$34 - $42

About The Position

The Quality Engineer evaluates and appraises suppliers’ manufacturing capabilities against documented commodity checklists and quality management system (QMS) special-process requirements. The role establishes part-quality evaluation plans across the full lifecycle, from material requests through receipt, and resolves and dispositions nonconforming materials while ensuring adequate corrective action. It is supplier-focused and requires strong oral and written communication to manage supplier quality assurance and support compliance on major programs from design through production. The position evaluates manufacturing functions, processes, inspection and testing methods, mechanisms, and equipment. It performs statistical analysis to assess the cost and determine responsibility for products or materials that fail to meet standards and specifications. The engineer participates in QMS audits, ensures corrective measures meet reliability standards and documentation requirements, and works with design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and research and development as they relate to product or process quality. The role also applies lean and Six Sigma methods and requires hands-on knowledge of mechanical machine-shop components, assemblies, subsystems, and systems, with emphasis on root cause and corrective action (RCCA), corrective and preventive action (CAPA), FMEA, process improvement, and process standardization. Work is performed in typical office conditions, in collaboration with the quality management team, the TRIGO team, and external customers. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional extended hours and weekend overtime may be required. The work includes physical activities and occasional long-distance driving to suppliers. Pay is $35 to $42 per hour. TRIGO ADR Americas provides supplier delivery assurance, supplier development, and quality management services to the aerospace and defense industry.
