About The Position

The Aerospace Quality Engineer evaluates and appraises supplier manufacturing capabilities against documented commodity checklists and quality management system (QMS) special processes. The role establishes part-quality evaluation plans from materials requests through receipt and manages the full lifecycle of quality evaluation. It resolves and dispositions nonconforming materials and ensures adequate corrective action. The position is highly supplier-focused and requires strong oral and written communication to manage supplier quality assurance and support compliance across organizational levels on major programs from design through production. The engineer evaluates manufacturing processes, inspection and testing methods, equipment, and product conformance; conducts statistical analysis of nonconforming products or materials; participates in QMS audits; and verifies corrective measures and documentation. The role also works with design, incoming materials, production control, product evaluation, reliability, inventory control, and research and development. It applies lean and Six Sigma methodologies, with emphasis on root-cause and corrective action (RCCA), corrective and preventive action (CAPA), FMEA, process improvement, and process standardization. Hands-on understanding of machine-shop mechanical components, assemblies, subsystems, and systems is required. The position typically works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours and weekend overtime. Work takes place in typical office conditions alongside the quality management team, TRIGO colleagues, and external customers, and may involve travel by car to suppliers. The role includes physical activities such as prolonged sitting, light lifting, walking, and occasional lifting or moving of up to 20 pounds. The work environment's noise level is usually moderate to high.
