About The Position

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Early Career Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer. In this role, you may be responsible for the planning, development, verification, validation, documentation, and configuration control of Finite Element Models (FEMs), analysis and results, and working within the direction of the FEA Function. You will perform detail part and component finite element analysis as well as internal loads development at the platform or vehicle level. You will also develop stress equations, stress gradients, stress histories, test spectrum, and evaluate test loading. Additionally, you will define instrumentation requirements for FEA validation using ground or flight tests.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • This position will require a government security clearance
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering; Civil Engineers will also be considered
  • Coursework in Finite Element Analysis
  • Coursework with MSC Patran, Femap, HyperMesh, or other finite element modeling preprocessing software
  • Coursework with NASTRAN and Abaqus Finite Element Analysis software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Python, C/C++ or other programing architecture
  • Experience using CATIA, Seimens NX CAD or other Design 3D modeling platform
  • Experience with Linux operating system
  • Experience with free-body diagrams
  • Experience in Advanced Aircraft Analysis
  • Familiar with AI Machine Learning Scripting
  • Experience with coupon testing and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
