About The Position

The Boeing Engineering and Technology Innovation Aerosciences Group is looking for an Aerodynamics Engineering intern to join the team in Huntington Beach, California. This team develops and applies advanced aerodynamic analysis tools and processes to a wide variety of flight platforms across the flight regime ranging from low-speed/high-lift to hypersonic flight. The products and services of this group cover the complete product life cycle of Boeing's commercial and military aircraft and advanced vehicle concepts. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Requirements

Completed the first year of PhD studies by July 2027
Pursuing a PhD in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2027
Fundamental knowledge of computational fluid dynamics
Background in range of numerical methods appropriate for unstructured or structured grid CFD
Strong communication skills and able to work with a team or individually
Experience in scientific programming and code development (C, FORTRAN, and/or C++)
Experience with Linux/Unix

Nice To Haves

A strong fluid dynamics background is desired in compressible flows

Responsibilities
