About The Position

The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department develops guidance section electronics architectures for development programs and supports subsystem analyses, integration and test, program leadership, and GPS/IMU support. The department partners with Electrical Engineering Departments that design its electrical products. The role is intended for entry-level candidates who will collaborate with engineers to develop electrical subsystems using current technology. Responsibilities may include troubleshooting electronics in laboratory or production environments; conducting system- and circuit-level analysis; supporting subsystem integration and testing and failure investigations; maintaining and creating documentation; and interacting with multidisciplinary groups and suppliers. The position may involve travel to test areas for support and troubleshooting, less than 10% of the time, and requires the ability to lift 15 pounds.

Requirements

  • Basic laboratory or other experience with one or more of the following: RF, analog, digital, mixed-signal, circuit design, or circuit analysis.
  • Experience with test instruments such as an oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, or power meter.
  • Experience writing and/or executing test procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major, and less than 2 years of prior experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a clearance.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Root-Cause Corrective Action investigations and FRACAS processes.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Material Review Board, Process Configuration Board, Configuration Control Board, and Failure Review Board processes, including proposing, defending, and implementing Change Notices.
  • Experience with test equipment, test automation scripting, test conduction, and sensor control.
  • Experience integrating and testing electrical hardware or subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot hardware and process issues down to circuit card assembly (CCA) and component levels.
  • Conduct failure analysis and root-cause determination, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform analog and digital circuit analysis and characterize and model electrical signals of electronics subsystems in simulation.
  • Identify and implement circuit-card and subassembly design updates.
  • Conduct integration and testing at the subassembly level.
  • Develop interconnect models between subsystems.
  • Generate test procedures and plans, and document test results.
  • Generate and present task results to small technical teams.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Travel to test areas as needed to support or troubleshoot issues; travel is expected to be less than 10%.
