About The Position

To provide technical and project management expertise to lead strategic technology initiatives that are critical to the long-term success of the Company. These initiatives include development of new capabilities through advanced technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in a business, technical or engineering field.
• Five (5) years’ experience facilitating larger programs or multi-function projects, to include providing innovative, forward looking technology leadership, and vision in a practical business environment.
• Strong Java application development experience, including Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful services, common design patterns, testing frameworks (JUnit), and standard development tools (IDEs, Git, CI/CD pipelines).
• Experience building and integrating distributed systems, with working knowledge of databases and data stores (e.g., Oracle, JPA, Redis, Cassandra), event‑driven messaging (JMS/Kafka), and cloud PaaS platforms (e.g., Cloud Foundry, Azure).
• Familiarity with supporting technologies such as Unix shell scripting, build tools (Maven/Gradle), and basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery).
• Familiarity with transportation/logistics industry.
• Experience in operations technology development, deployment, product development or technology research and evaluation.
• Familiarity with IoT technologies.
• Strong leadership, problem solving, organizational, and communications skills required.
• Experience in operations technology deployment, product development or emerging technology research and evaluation.
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, human relations, and communication skills especially with a diverse group of team members including technicians, software and hardware engineers, managers, and executives (technical and non-technical groups).

Responsibilities

• Project management.
• Provide technical and analytical input in assessment and application of advanced technologies (e.g., autonomous vehicles, robotics and other AI-ML applications) and support IT solutions.
• Planning, execution, and testing of implementation of emerging technologies in operations working with technology developers, suppliers, and operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
