About The Position

The Critical Care Advanced Practitioner Provider (APP) is a board-certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who provides advanced, comprehensive care to critically ill and medically complex patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Working both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, the APP uses critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and procedural expertise to deliver high-quality patient care. The role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage complex medical conditions in a fast-paced environment.

This is a PRN position requiring 3–6 shifts per month.

Requirements

• Board certification and licensure as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), or Physician Assistant/Associate (PA).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Strong working knowledge of critical care medicine, including fluid resuscitation, vasopressor management, hemodynamic monitoring, and mechanical ventilation.
• Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to synthesize and analyze complex patient data.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Proficiency in procedural skills relevant to critical care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in a critical care setting as an NP, PA, or ICU RN is preferred.
