Locum Advanced Heart Failure- APP
About The Position
Tampa General Hospital is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology service. As a nationally recognized heart transplant center with a 24/7 APP‑led model, we provide comprehensive care for high‑acuity cardiac patients requiring advanced therapies. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with a night shift differential and potential for extension or long-term employment. The role involves evaluating, admitting, and managing patients with advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock, providing ICU-level care including invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and managing mechanical circulatory support devices. The APP will also oversee chronic and acute inotrope therapy and support pre- and post-operative heart transplant patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Experienced APP with Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant experience required or Cardiac ICU APP experience
- Minimum 1 year Cardiology experience
- Acute Care Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant License/Registration
- Nationally Accredited Nurse Practitioner Board certification or Nationally Accredited Physician Assistant Board certification
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, admit, and manage patients with advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock
- Provide ICU‑level care, including invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- Manage mechanical circulatory support devices (LVAD, IABP, Impella CP/5.5/RP Flex, ECMO)
- Oversee chronic and acute inotrope therapy
- Support pre‑ and post‑operative heart transplant patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
