About The Position

The Physician HTPN examines and treats patients with various conditions. They take patient histories, request tests, make diagnoses, and prescribe treatments. They administer vaccinations, perform follow-up exams, and educate patients on disease prevention and health maintenance. The Physician HTPN supervises the clinical activities of allied health and advanced practice professionals. The physician diagnoses and treats conditions in their area of specialty and may work in a hospital, specialty clinic, or outpatient surgical center. The role may include performing surgical, treatment, or non-invasive procedures in the specialty area, creating post-operative care plans, and recommending lifestyle changes involving diet, exercise, and other matters.

Responsibilities

Examine, collect, record, and maintain patient information, including medical history, reports, and examination results.
Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccinations, and other medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
Order, perform, and interpret tests; examine records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' conditions.
Work with a clinical team of technicians, advanced practice professionals, and physicians; make judgments about tests, diagnoses, and treatment options for patients.
Monitor patient conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
Diagnose and treat conditions in the area of specialty.
May work in a hospital, specialty clinic, or outpatient surgical center.
May perform surgical procedures, treatment, or non-invasive procedures in the area of specialty.
May create post-operative care plans and recommend lifestyle changes involving diet, exercise, and other matters.
Supervise the clinical activities of a care team that may consist of other providers and allied health professionals.
