MUSC Health Advanced Practice Provider (APP NP/PA) – Structural Heart APP (PRN)
About The Position
MUSC Health is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Structural Heart Program on a PRN basis. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic, multidisciplinary cardiovascular team caring for patients with complex valvular and structural heart disease. In this position, you will support procedural and clinical care across the continuum, contributing to innovative, life-changing therapies such as TAVR, MitraClip, and other transcatheter interventions. The practice is part of MUSC Health’s greater Heart & Vascular Center, which provides compassionate care and advanced treatment to patients across South Carolina. MUSC Health Heart & Vascular Center has received the Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ 3-star rating 20 years in a row, is accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, and is a BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina BlueDistinction® Center for Cardiac Care.
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Board certified and licensed (or eligible) in South Carolina
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong procedural, clinical, and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, or critical care preferred
- Experience with structural heart or interventional cardiology strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide PRN clinical support for the Structural Heart Program across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings
- Assist with patient evaluation, diagnosis, and management of structural heart conditions including aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, and other complex valvular disease
- Participate in pre-procedural workups, peri-procedural care, and post-procedural follow-up for interventions such as TAVR, TEER, and LAAO
- Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, imaging specialists, and care teams
- Perform clinical assessments, documentation, and coordination of care to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Support continuity of care through patient education, discharge planning, and follow-up management
