The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant/Associate (PA), provides comprehensive, evidence-based patient care in a blended role supporting obesity medicine/medical weight management and ambulatory clinic practice. The position dedicates approximately 17 hours per week to obesity medicine and medical weight management and approximately one and one-half days per week to the ambulatory clinic, serving as an extender to a family practice physician. The APP will also provide services at the Thrive location in Marshall approximately once per month and participate in the Walk-In Clinic weekend rotation, currently scheduled at approximately one weekend in four. The APP evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and provides ongoing follow-up care for patients within their professional scope of practice, granted clinical privileges, organizational policies, and applicable state and federal requirements. The APP works collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, behavioral health professionals, pharmacists, specialists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate high-quality, patient-centered care.
