Advanced Pharmacy Technician, Back End Full Time (Night Shift)
About The Position
Omnicare, a CVS Health Company, provides pharmacy services to skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. Following its sale by CVS Health, Omnicare will continue as an independent organization, and this position will be employed by Omnicare. The Advanced Pharmacy Technician works in a closed-door pharmacy to help meet medication needs and regulatory requirements. The back-end team supports order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medications, checking delivery orders and bins for accuracy, and coordinating stock rotations. The technician rotates among assigned pharmacy workstations and helps coordinate workflow, product handling, inventories, and order entry. This is a full-time position with a scheduled shift of 5:00 PM–1:30 AM and 40 anticipated weekly hours.
Requirements
- Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
- At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- PTCB National Certification.
- Five or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the functional supervisor to coordinate workflow for assigned areas that prepare and process medications.
- Rotate and work in assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
- Receive product deliveries, pull and stage products for distribution, rotate stock, and coordinate activities with drivers to ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely.
- Perform physical inventories of medication.
- Enter orders by typing them.
- Support medication order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medications and reviewing delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
