Advanced Pharmacy Technician, Back End Full Time (Night Shift)
About The Position
The Advanced Pharmacy Technician works in Omnicare’s closed-door pharmacy, helping meet medication needs and regulatory requirements for patients. The back-end team fulfills orders by packaging and dispensing medications, checking delivery orders and bins for accuracy, and coordinating stock rotations. The technician works across assigned pharmacy workstations and coordinates with colleagues and drivers to support accurate, timely shipments. The role is full-time, with a scheduled shift of 5:00 PM–1:30 AM and 40 anticipated weekly hours. Omnicare provides pharmacy services to skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. The position will be employed by Omnicare as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health.
Requirements
- Be a certified, licensed, or registered pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
- At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- PTCB National Certification.
- Five or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the function supervisor to coordinate workflow in assigned areas that prepare and process medications.
- Rotate among assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
- Receive product deliveries; pull and stage product for distribution; rotate stock; and coordinate with drivers to ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely.
- Perform physical inventories of medication.
- Enter orders by typing them.
- Help ensure medication needs and regulatory compliance are met for patients.
- Package and dispense medications and review delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
