Advanced Pharmacy Technician, Back End Full Time
About The Position
The Advanced Pharmacy Technician works in an Omnicare closed-door pharmacy to help meet medication needs and regulatory compliance for patients. The back-end team handles order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medications, checking delivery orders and bins for accuracy, and coordinating stock rotations. The technician partners with the function supervisor to coordinate workflow and rotates among assigned pharmacy workstations. Omnicare serves skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and chronic care settings. This role is employed by Omnicare and supports its operations as an independent organization following its sale by CVS Health.
Requirements
- Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, or as required by state law.
- At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- PTCB National Certification.
- At least five years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the function supervisor to coordinate workflow in assigned areas that prepare and process medications.
- Rotate among assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
- Receive product deliveries, pull and stage products for distribution, rotate stock, and coordinate with drivers to ensure accurate shipments and timely deliveries.
- Perform physical inventories of medication.
- Fulfill orders by packaging and dispensing medications and reviewing delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
