About The Position

The Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides compassionate, patient-centered care in the NICU under the guidance of a registered nurse. The role includes performing advanced clinical tasks and helping create a safe, welcoming environment where patients and families feel valued and respected. The position is with St. David’s Medical Center in Central Austin, part of St. David’s HealthCare.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate observations to the nursing team.
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely.
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removal of IV lines and catheters, and wound care.
• Collect laboratory samples and assist with clerical duties to support patient care.
• Anticipate patient needs, respond quickly, and help provide a seamless, compassionate experience.
