About The Position

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking an Advanced Materials and Process Engineer specializing in materials development, testing, and characterization. The role focuses on processing-microstructure-property relationships for at least one of the Ni-based, Fe-based, or Ti-based alloy families, supporting development of high-performance components for demanding applications. The position is based at the Phoenix, Arizona site on a hybrid schedule. For the first 90 days, new hires must work onsite Monday through Friday. The position reports to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager. The engineer leads materials development and qualification projects, performs characterization and mechanical testing, and uses results to guide component design and improve durability and reliability. The role also investigates material performance issues, collaborates with design, manufacturing, and quality teams, documents and presents findings, improves characterization methods, and provides technical mentorship. Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the posting or have the ability to obtain export authorization. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available. The application period is estimated to be 40 days from the posting date, subject to change based on business needs and candidate availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • At least 3 years of experience in material characterization, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or a related industry.
  • Strong materials science fundamentals and education or experience focused on metallurgy, materials engineering, and/or materials science.
  • Experience with processing-microstructure-property relationships for at least one of the Ni-based, Fe-based, or Ti-based alloy families.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined in the posting, or have the ability to obtain export authorization.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not available.
