About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist for a Locum Tenens position in Fort Myers, FL. This role involves both hospital and outpatient settings, requiring clinical duties and on-call responsibilities. The coverage period is from August 5, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The cardiologist will manage adult cardiology patients, with a focus on advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, and general heart failure management. Weekend rounding is a key component of this role.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology by ABIM
• Completion of an ACGME Accredited Heart Failure Fellowship
• Proficient with Impella and ECMO
• Strong multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• NPDB report must be less than 3 months old

Nice To Haves

• More than 5 years post-fellowship experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide weekend inpatient coverage
• Round on advanced heart failure patients
• Manage cardiogenic shock patients
• Evaluate patients in clinic and hospital settings
• Collaborate with APPs, cardiologists, and surgeons
• Manage mechanical circulatory support therapies
• Perform Advanced Heart Failure Management
• Perform Cardiogenic Shock Management
• Perform Impella Management

• Perform Mechanical Circulatory Support Management
