About The Position

We are actively recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our expanding Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology team at Tampa General Hospital (TGH). TGH boasts a high-quality, moderate-volume heart transplant program and a well-established mechanical circulatory support program. The APP on the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology team will work closely with the on-call attending Physician on a nightly basis. Primary responsibilities will include new patient evaluation and admission, follow-up care for admitted inpatients including ICU patients with mechanical circulatory support devices comprising durable left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella CP, 5.5, RP Flex and ECMO. Management of patients on chronic inotrope infusions as well as pre-operative and post-operative heart transplant recipients will also be required. The APRN or Physician Assistant provides nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems. Maintains an annual protocol with supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values in accordance with Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida
  • PA and/or NP, with Acute Care or Gerontology certification
