About The Position

Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMTs) respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and provide patients with high-quality care, treatment, and customer service. The role includes assessing patients, determining and delivering appropriate care, documenting patient information and treatment, and maintaining patient confidentiality and rights. AEMTs help keep the patient environment safe, clean, and well stocked; use appropriate medical skills, equipment, and tools; and operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and applicable traffic laws. They work professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow EMTs, and participate in community programs to support AMR’s image and community relations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Kansas EMT certification or Kansas eligibility.
• CPR certification.
• State driver’s license.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass the Physical Ability Test (PAT).

Nice To Haves

• NREMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, determine necessary care, and deliver emergency services using appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
• Document patient information, condition, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
• Use appropriate EMT skills, communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment, and tools to provide care.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and traffic laws applicable to emergency medical response vehicles.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow EMTs.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
