About The Position

The Advanced Analytics department is responsible for creating descriptive and prescriptive statistics and models to support the operational functions of the organization. This includes providing guidance on suspected fraud, opportunities to recover claims paid, expected probability of issuing a policy, marketing statistics and targeting, as well as many other areas. Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our Short Hills, NJ location.
Requirements
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills required; you will be identifying solutions to a problem, not simply executing existing solutions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Beginner level of experience with Python. Higher levels of expertise greatly preferred.
- Experience with SQL language a plus.
- Working towards or have obtained a degree in an analytical field such as mathematics, statistics, data science, machine learning or computer science.
- High School Diploma required.
- Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.
Nice To Haves
- Higher levels of expertise in Python greatly preferred.
- Experience with SQL language a plus.
Responsibilities
- Identifying analytical solutions to a business problem
- Exploring data trends to identify drivers of the targeted metric
- Creation of predictive models to support the analytical solution
- Evaluating the performance of new or existing models
- Evaluating new machine learning, AI and generative AI technologies
- Presenting findings to our business partners to obtain acceptance of implementing the solutions
