About The Position

The test proctor is responsible for the overall quality of the testing program at their HiSET test center. Their major responsibility is to uphold the integrity of the HISET Program by effectively organizing and overseeing the test administration process. This is a seasonal assignment for the 2026-2027 Grant period, involving 8-10 work days per school year.

Requirements

High School Diploma or HSE/GED equivalent
Must be 18 years of age
Some experience in administering standardized tests
Speak fluent English
Ability to complete forms and to read directions clearly to test takers
Possess unquestionable integrity
Able to handle groups of test-takers in an effective, efficient, and friendly manner
Not be involved in high school equivalency instruction.

Responsibilities

Verify the identity and eligibility of each HiSET test taker.
Maintain testing surveillance logs, seating charts, and other documentation as required.
Maintain the security of all testing materials.
Conduct testing sessions under the supervision of the Chief Examiner in accordance with PSI policies and procedures.
Adhere to the State of Indiana Adult Education testing policies.
Be available to travel to and lead multiple HiSET test sites in LaPorte county.
Adhere to PSI and state policies regarding preparing and submitting testing materials for scoring.
Inform the Chief Examiner and/or State Administrator of all disruptions or suspicious events promptly and in writing.
Display strong and positive interpersonal skills with co-workers, students, and other site staff.
Communicate with PSI Service Center as needed.
Attend appropriate examiner meetings as requested.
Be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Perform other tasks as required.
