About The Position

The Adult Development (AD) Van Driver is responsible for ensuring the safety of all children riding the bus and completing required documentation. This role involves providing safe transportation, conducting pre-trip inspections, checking buses after routes, assisting children to classrooms, and managing various transportation-related documentation. The driver is also responsible for vehicle maintenance tasks, reporting incidents, attending staff meetings, and maintaining confidentiality. This is a safety-sensitive, part-time position with a split shift schedule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • A clean background check
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably with one to three months related experience and or training
  • A CDL may be required based on position

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe transportation
  • Completes Pre-Trip Inspections prior to each route.
  • Check buses at end of morning/afternoon routes to ensure no child remains on bus.
  • Assists with taking children to their classrooms.
  • Turns in all documentation daily which includes but limited to: Transportation Log, Pre-Trip Inspections, Transportation Roster
  • Maintains bus binder that includes required documentation: seating chart, up to date client information, emergency procedures, and vehicle accident procedures/forms
  • Ensure up to date client information is on the bus binder when transporting clients. This includes client face sheets listing authorized person(s) to take a child from the bus, Parent Consent for Medication Administration and Emergency Treatment form, printed maps to every client's home.
  • Turn in gas receipts at the end of each month.
  • Complete and turn in monthly inspections on assigned vehicles, if appropriate, on the last working day of the month
  • Immediately reports all transportation related incidents to supervisor.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings.
  • Complete all required training in a timely manner.
  • Submits Work Orders on vehicle maintenance requests and other problems.
  • Complete minor vehicle maintenance tasks
  • Assist in scheduling/delivering/picking up vehicles at shop
  • Follows FCC and FPS policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current and valid AR Driver's License and ensures the HR Department has a copy of this for their files. A CDL may be required for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Inc. and the clients. Conditions of confidentiality shall be in compliance with Friendship Community Care Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPAA Policies.
