About The Position

The YDP/Van Driver serves a dual role supporting youth development and transportation services. This position is responsible for safely transporting youth members to and from school, the clubhouse, and Club-sponsored events, while also assisting in the supervision, organization, and implementation of after school and out-of-school programming. This role will not exceed 29.5 hours per week.

Requirements

Minimum age 21 for driving duties
Valid CT public passenger endorsement and valid license for a minimum of 3 years
Clean driving record and background check
Experience working with youth preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
CPR/AED/First Aid certified
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Light to moderate physical activity
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

Safely operates 12-passenger vehicles in accordance with schedules and routes.
Ensures safety of passengers and compliance with traffic laws and Club policies.
Maintains order and proper discipline of youth.
Conducts daily vehicle safety inspections and ensures vehicles are clean and stocked with safety equipment.
Logs mileage, fuel usage, and passenger attendance.
Reports incidents or mechanical issues promptly.
Supervises groups of 10–20 youth.
Facilitates age-appropriate academic, recreational, STEM, arts, and physical activities.
Promotes positive behavior, teamwork, and emotional safety.
