The Adult Development (AD) Instructor teaches independent living skills to consumers and provides personal care assistance as needed. Key responsibilities include maintaining communication with the Immediate Supervisor, developing weekly curriculum under the guidance of the AD Manager, and planning and conducting daily classes and activities. The instructor is responsible for guiding clients on their Individual Program Plan (IPP) objectives with positive reinforcement, adhering to all program guidelines including Medicaid and DDS standards, and providing habilitation training. The role also involves completing required in-service and out-of-area training, attending meetings (which may occur after hours), ensuring compliance with the Policy and Procedures Manual, and transporting clients for training and day trips. Daily documentation, including Medicaid notes, DOL information, data sheets, progress notes, and incident reports, is essential. The instructor will also supervise contract work, organize class supplies, provide active treatment, and assist with personal care needs. Maintaining a professional attitude and strict confidentiality in accordance with Friendship Community Care Non-Disclosure and HIPAA Policies is required. This is a safety-sensitive position that may require driving company and personal vehicles.
