About The Position

Adult Day Program Staff support adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities who may have significant ongoing therapeutic, medical, and sensory needs. Staff provide assistance with personal care, feeding, daily living skills, and goals related to physical therapy and occupational health. They engage active and passive participants in meaningful activities and help develop community-based integration and facility-based activities suited to the individuals served. The position offers experience relevant to occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, autism and behavior analysis, psychology, and social work. The program operates in Allendale and Coopersville, and staff must be able to work at both locations. Paid training is provided by Ottawa County Community Mental Health (CMH).

Requirements

Be over the age of 18.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have a valid, current Michigan driver's license that meets the insurance company's requirements for driving staff vehicles and transporting consumers.
Be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, TB test, and Michigan State Police check.
Demonstrate reliability, trustworthiness, quality caregiving skills, good attendance, scheduling flexibility, and good communication and interpersonal skills.
Be able to engage consumers in active and passive participation.
Be able to work at both program locations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in direct support or related work is a plus.

Responsibilities

Work at both the Allendale and Coopersville locations.
Attend training and meetings, which may occasionally occur outside the program’s usual hours.
