About The Position

The Adoption Coordinator, also referred to as a Matchmaker, plays a crucial role in connecting potential adopters with the right dog from Path of Hope Rescue. This volunteer position focuses on ensuring a positive and professional adoption experience by understanding adopter needs and matching them with suitable dogs. The coordinator acts as the primary point of contact, guiding adopters through the entire process with empathy and care, ultimately aiming to prevent future adoption issues. This role is fully remote and requires approximately 5 flexible hours per week.

Requirements

  • Must like people and have an equal love for people as for dogs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Comfortable using CRM and multiple online platforms.
  • Team player, willing to collaborate and foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures a smooth, professional, and friendly experience for adopters.
  • Adheres to Path of Hope Rescue (PHR) Core Values and adoption/matchmaking policies.
  • Facilitates the best possible match between dogs and families.
  • Updates software platforms throughout the adoption process, maintaining detailed notes.
  • Communicates effectively with other PHR team members as needed.
  • Maintains familiarity with the roster of available dogs and incoming dogs.
  • Stays up-to-date on foster reports and dog descriptions.
  • Reviews pre-screened applications assigned to them.
  • Sets up and conducts 'Matchmaking' phone interviews.
  • Coordinates and oversees group texts with fosters and adopters.
  • Conducts long-distance In Home Trials via video call.
  • Coordinates Puppy Delivery if the option is chosen.
  • Finalizes adoptions by managing contracts and donations.
