About The Position

This remote independent-contractor consulting role supports an advanced AI training and clinical evaluation project. The specialist reviews complex adolescent case material, develops structured suicide and self-harm risk formulations, distinguishes self-harm from suicidal ideation, intent, and acute risk, and provides clear clinical guidance grounded in established assessment frameworks and evidence-based practice. The work requires substantial direct clinical experience with adolescents, strong professional judgment, and the ability to explain nuanced safety decisions to non-specialist audiences. Prior AI experience is not required. The work includes adolescent case review, risk formulation, escalation judgment, safeguarding analysis, and structured clinical guidance. Project scope, workload, case complexity, and evaluation standards may change according to project requirements. Work must not use confidential or proprietary information belonging to an employer, client, institution, healthcare organization, patient, or other third party. Selected professionals should be prepared to begin their first tasks approximately 24–48 hours after completing onboarding. Roles are typically filled within approximately 48 hours.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of post-qualification experience involving direct adolescent clinical work focused on suicide or self-harm risk.
  • Specialist background in child or adolescent psychiatry, psychology, or a closely related clinical discipline.
  • Active clinical licence or professional registration in good standing.
  • Recent experience with an active adolescent caseload within approximately the past two years.
  • Advanced proficiency with suicide and self-harm risk-assessment frameworks such as the C-SSRS.
  • Strong familiarity with evidence-based safety-planning approaches.
  • Experience distinguishing ideation, intent, self-harm behavior, and varying levels of acute risk.
  • Exceptional written English and ability to communicate nuanced clinical reasoning clearly.
  • Ability to complete work without using confidential or proprietary third-party information.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with evidence-based adolescent interventions such as DBT-A, CBT, or trauma-informed approaches.
  • Crisis, inpatient, or other high-acuity clinical experience.
  • Contributions to suicidology research, clinical guidance, or related professional work.
  • Prior AI training or model-evaluation experience is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review adolescent case materials and produce structured written assessments of suicide and self-harm risk.
  • Use clinical judgment to determine severity, acuity, and relevant risk factors; distinguish self-harm, suicidal ideation, suicidal intent, and acute risk.
  • Integrate historical, contextual, behavioral, and clinical information into defensible risk formulations, and identify material uncertainty or missing information.
  • Apply validated assessment approaches, such as the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS), where appropriate, interpreting results within the broader clinical formulation.
  • Recommend proportionate response pathways and apply evidence-based safety-planning principles and escalation judgment.
  • Evaluate whether proposed interventions are clinically appropriate for the adolescent presentation.
  • Identify relevant comorbidities, safeguarding concerns, family and social factors, contextual risks, trauma history, developmental context, protective factors, and available supports.
  • Determine when more intensive clinical or emergency support may be required.
  • Produce clear, research-grade written guidance for non-specialist users, explaining clinical reasoning, escalation decisions, and intervention recommendations.
  • Benchmark risk judgments against established clinical guidance and peer assessments.
  • Review complex cases for consistency, completeness, and clinical safety, and incorporate feedback and evolving project standards into subsequent assessments.
