The University of New Mexico’s Adobe Creative Commons (ACC), a partnership between UNM IT, University Libraries, and Adobe Education, seeks self-motivated, engaged student employees for a digital-literacy-oriented customer service environment. Assistants are often the first point of contact for ACC patrons and handle most one-on-one trainings and lending processes. The ACC provides technology lending and learning for digital media production through equipment, software, and creative project education, and assistants help maintain and monitor ACC areas. Under supervision, assistants work closely with ACC staff and students. They may also work on a limited, sometimes cross-functional basis with the Brain Bar and other University Libraries staff and students. Applicants should have a basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud software, digital media hardware such as cameras, and Mac OS, Windows, and mobile environments. They should be able to take initiative in addressing day-to-day technical and operational problems, working independently and as part of a team. Additional supervised projects may include updating workflows, inventory, and reorganizing the space. Successful applicants may take on progressively independent work and increased responsibility. This student position offers the opportunity to develop digital media tutoring skills, receive guidance and mentoring from library staff, build professional skills in communication, critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving, and develop and apply technical skills with digital media production equipment and Adobe Creative Cloud software. Student employees may be asked to work evenings, nights, and/or weekends. University Libraries student employees are employed on a term basis for the current or impending school year.
