About The Position

The network administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and management of networks in data center, campus, and WAN environments. The candidate must have varied experience covering different network technologies, an excellent understanding of network functions and fundamentals, as well as experience in complex multi-vendor infrastructures. The role also involves a good understanding of the interactions between infrastructure technologies and operating systems, with the ability to design, deploy, and maintain network solutions. In-depth knowledge of financial markets and associated technologies (multicast, low-latency platforms) is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with various operating systems, NMS tools, and automation (Zabbix, ServiceNow, HP Network Automation, Windows, Linux, Ansible, Python).
  • Good command of Excel (charts, VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to work independently and in a global multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and learning ability.
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to produce technical documentation and network diagrams.
  • Solid understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, UDP, ports, protocols, IP addressing, subnetting).
  • Network security (Zero Trust, DDoS protection).
  • Advanced troubleshooting (Wireshark, tcpdump, telemetry).
  • Network technologies: Metro Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, DWDM, TDM.
  • Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VXLAN, DHCP, DNS.
  • IP Multicast: PIM, IGMP, MSDP.
  • Optical systems (ADVA – 10G, 40G, 100G, Fibre Channel).
  • Cisco equipment (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR) and Juniper (EX).
  • Excellent communication in English. Knowledge of English is required, as the position involves communicating with teams outside of Quebec.
  • Only candidates legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide level 2 and 3 support for Wifi, LAN, MAN, and WAN infrastructures.
  • Collaborate with production management, architecture, and application support teams to gather network needs and deploy necessary infrastructures.
  • Work with engineering and support teams to resolve complex multi-platform issues.
  • Follow internal standards for service management, supervision, alerts, and incident management.
  • Maintain standards for asset and configuration management.
  • Comply with IT policies, particularly regarding security and governance.
  • Ensure alignment with global and local technological standards.
  • Design and improve existing network infrastructures.
  • Proactively propose improvements based on capacity, resilience, and risks.
  • Participate in on-call duty (support rotation) outside normal hours.
  • Apply internal procedures and policies.
